– Primary therapy for hypertension and patients who are not adequately controlled with single antihypertensive therapy; amlodipine may be combined with thiazide diuretics or a β-adrenoceptor blocker agent or ACE inhibitors.
– Primary therapy for myocardial ischemia caused by either fixed obstruction or vasospasm/vasoconstriction of the coronary vasculature. Amlodipine can be used as monotherapy or in combination with other antianginal agents in patients with angina who do not respond adequately to nitrates and/or beta blockers.
