Jakarta, 14 July 2021 – Director of PT. Pyridam Farma Tbk (PYFA) dr. Widjanarko Brotosaputro welcomed the visit from the Criminal Investigation Agency of the National Police, Komjen Agus Andrianto and his team to the PT. Pyridam Farma Tbk to have a dialogue regarding drug distribution for COVID-19 healing therapy. In order to support the government’s program in controlling the COVID-19 pandemic, PYFA is committed to prioritizing the production and distribution of COVID-19 therapeutic drugs such as Azithromycin 500mg, Levofloxacin, and vitamin D3-1000.
“Covid-19 cases in Indonesia are increasing quite rapidly. As one of the pharmaceutical companies in Indonesia, PYFA will prioritize the production and distribution of drugs and supplements that support the acceleration of healing for COVID-19 sufferers. Therefore, as a follow-up to our meeting with the National Police Chief of Criminal Investigation Agency, Komjen Agus Andrianto, today PYFA is ready to distribute 100,000 Azithromycin 500mg tablets according to the highest retail price (HET) set by the government. Meanwhile around 275,000 tablets are in production and we will distribute them as soon as possible.” said dr. Widjanarko Brotosaputro as Director of PT. Pyridam Farma Tbk (PYFA).
The government through the official regulation of the Minister of Health Number HK.1.7/menkes/4826 of 2021 has set the highest retail price (HET) for drugs during the COVID-19 pandemic. There are 11 drugs whose HET has been determined by the government, one of which is Azithromycin 500 mg produced by PT. Pyridam Farma Tbk. Azithromycin is an antibiotic and according to the COVID-19 Management Manual, Azithromycin can be used as a pharmacological therapy (therapy with drugs) for COVID-19 patients.
