PYFA’s Probiotec Achieves Green Star 6-Star Rating, Reinforcing ESG Commitment in Sustainable Building

JAKARTA, August 11, 2026 — PT Pyridam Farma Tbk (IDX: PYFA), through its subsidiary Probiotec, has been awarded a 6-Star Green Star rating, the highest possible score under the sustainable building rating system administered by the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA). The certification was granted to Probiotec Multipack, a Probiotec facility located in Kemps Creek, New South Wales, Australia.

The facility earned a World Leadership rating, the top recognition tier within the Green Star framework. The distinction reflects a facility designed for greater efficiency in energy, water, and materials use supporting more sustainable, cost-effective operations over the long term.

Probiotec Multipack was built with a focus on minimizing environmental impact across the entire building life cycle, from material selection through construction and daily operations. That approach earned recognition for the facility’s embodied carbon performance, reinforcing Probiotec’s commitment to environmentally responsible operations. PYFA views this as a win on two fronts: long-term investment efficiency and a positive contribution to the surrounding environment.

Jessica Walters, Chief Executive Officer of Probiotec, said the World Leadership rating reflects the company’s tangible responsibility toward the global supply chain. She noted that investing in high-environmental-standard infrastructure is a critical pillar for ensuring both business resilience and competitiveness going forward.

“The Green Star 6-Star achievement at Kemps Creek proves that sustainability isn’t an add-on initiative for Probiotec, it’s built into how we design, construct, and operate our co-packing facilities. This standard reflects our long-term commitment to delivering efficient, low-impact packaging solutions for our partners across the pharmaceutical and FMCG industries,” said Walters.

That commitment is backed by concrete measures: solar panel installations supplying up to 30% of the facility’s renewable energy needs, an integrated rainwater harvesting system, smart LED lighting, and dozens of EV charging stations across the site.

Sustainability efforts extend beyond the building itself. Probiotec applies ISO 14001-certified environmental management practices facility-wide, and in line with its Sustainable Packaging Guidelines, has established recycling infrastructure for cardboard, paper, and plastic at multiple operational sites, ensuring responsible material management throughout the pharmaceutical production chain.

According to the Global Status Report for Buildings and Construction 2025–2026, published by UNEP and the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction, the building and construction sector accounts for roughly 37% of global CO₂ emissions, nearly two-thirds of which stem from construction and embodied carbon in materials like cement and steel, rather than day-to-day building operations. That underscores why decisions made at the design and construction stage, as demonstrated at Kemps Creek, carry long-term weight for a facility’s total carbon footprint.

In that light, the Green Star 6-Star certification is more than a reputational milestone, it’s a concrete response to structural challenges facing the pharmaceutical and construction sectors globally. It also positions PYFA, through Probiotec, in step with international climate policy direction and with the growing expectations of investors, regulators, and business partners who now factor environmental performance into how they assess a pharmaceutical company’s sustainability.

Beyond the 6-Star Green Star rating and Australia’s first-ever NABERS Embodied Carbon rating, Probiotec Multipack also won the 2026 UDIA NSW Excellence in Industrial Development Award, recognition for cutting-edge design that sets a new benchmark for building efficiency and environmental performance among TGA-standard pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.

Through Probiotec, PYFA is committed to extending these sustainability practices across its broader operational network, in line with the group’s overarching sustainability agenda. Looking ahead, the group will continue driving manufacturing efficiency, waste management, and responsible material sourcing, while exploring further certification and sustainability opportunities at its other facilities, including in Indonesia.

The Green Star 6-Star achievement serves as a reminder that building a more sustainable future starts with how a company operates today. PYFA invites its partners, clients, and stakeholders to continue working together toward a more efficient, lower-impact pharmaceutical industry.
