With Indonesian Pharmacists Association, PYFA Advances National Pharmaceutical Resilience

MEDAN, August 12, 2026 — PT Pyridam Farma Tbk (IDX: PYFA) took an active role in the 2026 Annual Scientific Meeting (Pertemuan Ilmiah Tahunan/PIT) of the Indonesian Pharmacists Association (Ikatan Apoteker Indonesia/IAI), supporting the industry’s push toward self-sufficiency and a stronger national healthcare supply chain. Held under the theme “One Health, One Pharmacy, Synergy for National Resilience,” the event drew more than 1,300 pharmacists from across Indonesia and gave PYFA a strategic platform to contribute to a more integrated national health resilience agenda.

PYFA’s participation echoed the vision laid out by BPOM (Indonesia’s Food and Drug Authority) Head Prof. Dr. Taruna Ikrar in his opening remarks. Citing Law No. 17 of 2023 on Health, he stressed that pharmacists play a critical role across the entire pharmaceutical value chain, from raw material sourcing and R&D through to community healthcare delivery. PYFA brought that engagement to life through an open booth, giving its team a direct channel to walk attending pharmacists through the company’s ecosystem and product portfolio.

She noted that regulatory compliance and close collaboration with pharmaceutical professionals are essential pillars for securing both safety and competitiveness across the industry going forward.

As Prof. Dr. Taruna Ikrar noted in his opening address, Indonesia still imports roughly 94% of the raw materials used in chemical-based medicines, while raw materials for biologics and biosimilars are sourced entirely from abroad. In step with the government’s push to accelerate research, technology transfer, and the shift toward biotechnology, PYFA Group, through PT Pyridam Farma Tbk and its subsidiary PT Ethica Industri Farmasi — used the event to introduce its product portfolio, capabilities, and technology to the pharmaceutical workforce.

That cross-sector collaboration reflects the direction IAI itself is taking in responding to a shifting healthcare landscape. Lilik Yusuf Indrajaya, newly elected Chairman of IAI’s Central Executive Board for the 2026–2030 period, said the ongoing transformation of the pharmacist profession is central to addressing increasingly complex health challenges. He pointed to cross-sector collaboration among all stakeholders as a key pillar for building a more adaptive pharmaceutical system.

“The role of the pharmacist has become increasingly strategic. Human health, animal health, environmental health, drug and food safety, technological innovation, and the broader transformation of the health system are all part of one interconnected whole,” he said.
