PYFA and BPOM Join Forces Through Tree-Planting Initiative: A Tangible Commitment to Environmental Preservation and Progress Toward Net Zero
CIKARANG, June 9, 2026 – PT Pyridam Farma Tbk (IDX: PYFA), in collaboration with the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM) and the Company’s Board of Directors, conducted a tree-planting activity on June 4, 2026. This greening initiative was one of the highlights of the inauguration ceremony for the production facility expansion of PT Ethica Industri Farmasi, located in Cikarang, West Java.
A total of 18 tree species were planted during the event, one of which the Ketapang Kencana (Terminalia mantaly) was personally planted by the Head of BPOM RI, Prof. Dr. Taruna Ikrar, M.Biomed, Ph.D. This initiative reflects the Company’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) pillars and is aligned with BPOM RI’s One Million Trees Movement, which was launched on January 31, 2026, in commemoration of BPOM RI’s 25th Anniversary. The activity aims to encourage the pharmaceutical industry ecosystem to take a more active role in greening efforts and demonstrates that tree-planting need not be limited to designated sites, but can be initiated directly within each company’s own working environment.
Citing the official BPOM RI website, the Head of BPOM RI, Prof. Dr. Taruna Ikrar, M.Biomed, Ph.D., expressed his appreciation for PYFA’s concrete steps toward environmental preservation.
“Today’s tree-planting activity is a manifestation of environmental stewardship, as well as a tangible contribution by the pharmaceutical industry to reducing its carbon footprint and building a green industrial ecosystem,” said Taruna Ikrar.
In pursuit of its vision to cultivate a green and sustainable pharmaceutical industry ecosystem, PYFA regards BPOM RI as a strategic partner that continues to guide the national pharmaceutical sector in aligning innovation with ecological responsibility. The direct involvement of the Head of BPOM RI in this greening initiative stands as a clear testament to their shared synergy and commitment. This vision resonates deeply with the perspective of PYFA’s President Director, Lee Yan Gwan, who emphasizes that environmental preservation is an inseparable part of the Company’s mission.
“We bring that same spirit here today as we work toward net zero carbon through the Million Trees Movement. This initiative is also inspired by the vision and mission of the tree-planting movement championed by BPOM RI in 2026. We believe that protecting health goes beyond medicine and healthcare services it also means nurturing a better environment for generations to come,” affirmed PYFA’s President Director, Lee Yan Gwan.
The tree-planting activity at PT Ethica Industri Farmasi further enriches PYFA’s already comprehensive track record of green initiatives. Previously, PYFA had carried out ecological activities alongside BPOM RI, including coastal mangrove restoration in Pluit, as well as reforestation efforts at Mount Munara and Mount Halimun Salak. PYFA’s commitment to environmental preservation also extends to aquatic ecosystems, demonstrated through its support for river clean-up initiatives in partnership with Sungai Watch. This sustainability commitment is further reflected in the Company’s international operations, where the Probiotec building facility in Australia has successfully achieved a National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS) rating cementing PYFA’s dedication to delivering lasting, positive impact on the climate.
